FENO | SMART TOOTHBRUSH

| 20 SECONDS OF BRUSHING

Using intricate engineering, mouth pieces are printed to fit a vast variety of mouths. The body of Feno is compact and features a simplified UI. The initial UI I worked on featured a prompt to take pictures, scan the mouth, initiate a 20 second brushing session, record brush streaks, and relay that information back to a primary dentist. I was responsible for the product visual form language, exterior body proportions and internals, ergonomics, and UI. I chose to highlight 3 of my favorite concepts of the 30 designs that were considered before moving forward with the final Feno brush design.

| FORM DEVELOPMENT & PROTOTYPING

As a significant part of the process, I developed many mockups, prototypes and sketches that focused on providing superior ergonomics without compromising size or performance. Feno featured an extensive process of ergonomic refinement which included button placement, product seam lines, and product form. I worked directly with the Head of Industrial Design and Feno team to solve potential manufacturing challenges and advise on design-related issues throughout the development process.

| CHARGING DOCK & UI EXPERIENCE

The Feno brush is heavily focused on experience, the feeling of removing the cap and brushing, checking your brush streaks and then placing the brush back onto the charging dock is this beautiful experience that we wanted to drive home. This form softness was influenced by stones, and how peaceful they look in nature and bringing that back into the home hygiene space.

 | SMARTER BRUSHING, CLEANER EXPERIENCE

Feno is a smart toothbrush designed to make the brushing experience simple but more informative. For this client we were tasked with designing over 30 concepts for the visual body as well as branding, packaging and oral hygiene related accessories. I focused on designing the brush base and overall form, leading the visual form language and renderings for  all product concepts provided and I also served as our in house UI/UX designer for this product developing all visual elements, information architecture, and animations for the Feno brush screens.
